Could I use regular concrete blocks? I am 77, recently had heart surgery so all this making, etc might be beyond my abilities and I was wondering if I got someone to help me we could dig down enough for the concrete blocks and fill them in with gravel and some soil. I would like to plant thyme and other stepables in the holes.

Thanks to you and Henry. I have been looking for a good way to hang my solar shower on a tree growing through my deck ( I live in the middle of the woods), also for hanging plants from the arbor.

What if you are located in the middle of the woods? What would you do to prevent sparks from setting the woods and house on fire? Nothing too strenusous, I am just recovering from open heart surgery and a pacemaker at 76.

I also rescue. I thank you very much for this. I have never had a disabled cat , just FELV and seniors.Any information on how to deal with the "dump" cats and dogs is very helpful, most of all, how to teach them to trust. Once they learn how to trust, they become the biggest lap babies in the world. They also become your helpers as I learned after just having heart surgery done. I had a couple of times where I could not get my breath and Homey head butted me and kept patting my face until she woke me so I could uncover my face. Cats are wonderful friends and I would not be without them.

To all the nay sayers, prove you are right. I happen to agree concerning these drinks. I have used lemon, ginger and turmeric for several years, love them and they do work. I do not get colds, flu because I use them along with garlic, onion and cinnamon. My only problem is my heart which got old along with the rest of me and I just got out of hospital after valve replacement and pacemaker installed. At 76, other than cancer which came about because of ROUND UP, I have been healthy as the preverbial horse. As for the commercial energy drinks and most of commercialy produced food, they are full of GMO's. I raise my own vegies, eat grain fed meat and drink grain fed raw milk, get eggs from neighbor's free range chickens. I do not consume anything that is full of chemicals.

Beautiful to look at, but at 76, terrifying. One slip and I would be dead and probably my cats would be too.

I will have to get someone who can climb ladders (am 76) and this idea works great for me. Right now, I have the light on the opener and 1 bulb that turns on from the door. Light in one place only and not good for corners. Thank you.

Another thought. What if I made a flat base for them to sit in/on. Might make them stable.
View Instructable »I live in the woods and think this would be great in the front yard. Two problems: coons and groundhogs. They have a habit of being nosey and knocking things over. If I made the concrete thicker, would that prevent them from breaking when knoocked over?

My cats would love it! They love to hide in cardboard boxes, gives them a quiet, dark place to sleep. Of course Homey would enjoy sharpening her claws on it, but cardboard is cheap and plentiful so I can always make a new one. Thanks.

Now you could adopt a senior cat from a shleter. There are so many out there looking for a loving home and they are so loving and good company. I have 2 seniors age 9.

As for the gun, I would probably destroy the house trying to shoot someone. Instead, I have a collection of knives hanging over my bed. If someone comes in the room, close to me bed, I got them

I can't stand to see anything go to waste, why not root those cuttings for more plants. I always have to plant more than I need because of the rodent family, squirrels, groundhogs, etc. I even have to keep my garage closed because they eat on the plastic parts in the engine compartment, they are made from soybean oil and they like it.
