Working as an industrial electrician this is counter productive vs purchasing a new one. However, some fantastic learning to be gained from this. Typically we will only rewind over 10hp. We will do bearings and seals on any size motor but when rewinding is upwards of 70%+ of new when rewinding below 10hp, it just doesn’t make sense. But yes there are companies out there that specialise in motor testing and rewinding.
