hi this is a cool idea, I'm not not good at making, this would be a cool idea as a gift for my son, I was wondering if you could sell it me with the ammunition and the pictures of manufacturing it

So how and what did you make your trigger assembly from and did you split be body or cutout a hole for the trigger assembly?

I cut out the body in two parts and then sandwiched them together on the final assembly. The mechanism is all aluminum. Sorry for the lack of details, I will be posting a new crossbow instructable soon.

I cannibalised it off the same crossbow I took the bow from. Had to hammer it into a new shape, which is why it's a little lopsided. Glad you liked it!

Any chance in hell you know what brand of crossbow it was? I'm trying to outfit my LARP team with crossbows because of how difficult it is to use a bow in plate armor.

I think our max is 40lbs, and I just want it for the crow's foot peice, I could easily replicate what you've done and it'd make using a crossbow in armor a dozen times easier. Thank you, and I'll let you know the results!

This is fantastic. I love the design. What kind of wood did you use? Did you just cut out the rough shape and then rasp/file/sand it once you had the two halves attached?

I can't remember what kind of wood I used, maybe oak? I rounded the edges with a table router then sanded, sanded, sanded...
