So you are getting ready for a cookout and need something delicious to bring along. This crisp cool summer salad is deliciously sweet and will make you the hit of the party. Whether you grow your own greens outside in your garden or get them from the store, this salad is a great way to cool down this summer, and eat some nutrient dense food in a delicious manner.
Step 1: Get Your Kale and Collards
In this recipe, I am using Kale and Collards fresh from my garden, but this salad is delicious with any of the cruciferous vegetables: broccoli, cabbage, even Brussel sprouts can be substituted in.
Step 2: Make the Dressing
Combine 1/2 cup of Mayonnaise, 1/2 cup of Sugar and 1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar (keep the ratios the same, but adjust quantity depending on how much salad you are making).
Step 3: Roughly Chop Your Greens and Add Them to the Dressing
Step 4: Chill for at Least 2 Hours
This helps the ingredients to combine and makes sure the salad is served nice and cold.
Step 5: Add Sunflower Seeds and Dried Cranberries and Mix Together
Step 6: Enjoy!
Have this as a cool treat on a hot summer day, or impress your friends when you bring it as a delicious side for your next summer cookout! This dish is best served cool.
