In this instructable you will be learning how to build homemade balsa gliders.
Step 1: Find Some Blueprints
Step 2: Cut the Fuselage
Now, you will cut the fuselage out of a piece of balsa wood.
Step 3: Cut Out the Stabilizers and Wings
Now, you are going to cut out the stabilizers and wings using the template provided in your blueprints. When cutting the wings, make sure you cut a slit on each side just about halfway through the balsa. Then, bend the ends up to form a curve.
Step 4: Now Glue the Stabilizers and Wings Onto the Fuselage
Step 5: Cut Out the Fin and Glue It Onto the Fuselage
Be very careful when gluing the fin on. Make sure it is lined up street so the plane does not turn in weird directions when you fly it later.
Step 6: You're Almost Finished!
Now we need to do is add a little weight to wherever you want it. This will help keep the plane flying straight and keep a balance during flight.
Step 7: Cut the Rubber Band Slot
Cut a small piece of wood like the on in the picture. Now, glue it onto the front of the fuselage.
Step 8: Glue It on Like This
Step 9: Put the Wings on If You Haven't Yet
Step 10: Your Done!
You have successfully built a model balsa glider!
