K'nex Eyebot | Fallout 4

About: Excuse the cringe in my old instructables, I was 14.

Eyebots are hovering robots designed by RobCo, before the Great War as a form of media transmitter. They appear in every Fallout game to date. These modular robots are about half a meter in diameter, and are capable of hovering a few feet off the ground. Eyebots are not as sturdy as other robots, however they can be fitted with tools, small weapons, radio transmitters and other devices. Do you want to learn how to acquire your own personal eyebot? Well, this Instructable will teach you exactly that!

This model is roughly on a 1:10 scale. The robot uses 35 pieces, and the stand uses 24 pieces. There are no broken/modified pieces however some pieces are very slightly bent, but not enough to do any noticeable damage to them. The robot can spin vertically, and each antennae is individually pose-able.

Let's get building!

Step 1: Piece Count

Rods:

  • 6x Black Rod (16mm)
  • 10x Silver Rod (32mm)
  • 7x Dark Grey Rod (86mm)
  • 1x Grey Rod (190mm)

Connectors:

  • 13x 4-Slot Silver 3D Connector
  • 1x 7-Slot Dark Blue 3D Connector
  • 4x 2-Slot Light Grey Connector

Clips/Other:

  • 1x Bronze Clip
  • 8x Silver Y-Clip
  • 2x Black Y-Clip
  • 1x Black Socket Joint
  • 5x Black Ball Joint

Total: 59 Pieces

Step 2: Eyebot Body and Speaker

The spherical body was quite hard to get correct, especially since there are no spherical K'nex pieces with areas to attach pieces! The pictures are self-explanatory and guide you through each step. Build what you see.

Step 3: Eyebot Antennae

It was quite a challenge finding the correct place to add the antennae to pose them in the correct place. Now I'll let the pictures speak for me.

Step 4: Eyebot Stand

I'm sure you don't want your eyebot rolling around on the ground, moving them perfectly posed antennae out of position. Well I'm here to save you with the stand!

Step 5: Finished!

Thank you for reading through this Instructable. If you have built this, please show me a picture down in the comments! Please tell me what you think of it. If you enjoyed it, please consider subscribing to me, it helps me a lot! I post K'nex Instructables very often. Bye, and have a great day!

Looking good! I hope Fallout fans will like it.
Some advice: I would've put the title near the antennae at the back.
And some pictures remain underlit. I'll share my setup for the Falcon. Maybe I'll post a topic on KnexFlux about photographing and post-editing of project-pictures

I tried the title near the antennae at the back, but it doesn't look correct, it seems too...squashed, but not squashed...(???) I prefer the way it is but ty anyway :)

Have to disagree with you... Instructables simply can't do that. The only thing is that they máy look brighter on the screen of your phone...
