So, it turns out you can use almost anything to make pesto! When summer comes around there are so many herbs and greens growing everywhere, it's a great time to experiment. Pesto is great on pasta, vegetables, pizza, sandwiches and a million other things. Admittedly I once tried putting some arugula pesto that I made on ice cream... but I'm not sure I'd actually recommend that. These are a few of my favorite recipes for different kinds of pesto that take advantage of a wide variety of herbs, cheeses, nuts, and other ingredients. So get inspired by these ideas and then thrown something in a blender!
