Original Way to Make a Wood Champagne Glass With Grinder and Electric Drill

About: I am a Japanese inventor who is specializing in hairbrushes. I like making things with DIY. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PggaysnpVM

In Japan, there is a custom that people drink Sake in “Masu”, which is made from an aromatic wood such as Japanese cypress called HINOKI. So, I tried to make a champagne glass from it. You can see the process how I made it with utilizing an electric drill and a grinder on my YouTube.

Step 1: Make Parts

Tools required:

  • Vise

  • Saw

  • Grinder

  • Electric drill

  • Forstner drill bit

  • Screw

  • Sandpaper

Materials required:

  • Dowel (Hinoki)

Step 2: Assemble and Finish

Once you assemble three parts, now time to drink!

Step 3: Enjoy!

I also want to enjoy the scent of Hinoki so that the glass is uncoated. Once the scent is gone, I am going to apply URUSHI (Japanese lacquer) to give it water resistance and durability.

Step 4: Apply Urushi

I tried a little bit different way to make glasses, which is more completed.

Nice job, a beautiful champagne flute. Really great considering you didn't have a lathe or pilar drill
