These easy no-bake cookies are a hit at Thanksgiving celebrations.
Step 1: Ingredients
Ingredients needed: Ritz crackers, creamy peanut butter, Hershey's kisses, candy corn, Twizzlers or other small red candies. Optional: 1 tsp. shortening.
Equipment: Microwave, bowl, slotted spoon, butter knife, wax paper, kitchen shears
Step 2: Make Peanut Butter Sandwiches.
Make peanut butter sandwiches by spreading approx. 1 tsp. of peanut butter between two crackers. Do not allow peanut butter to squeeze out the sides. Make as many or as few as you wish. One package of almond bark will make 40-45 cookies.
Step 3: Prepare Candies
Unwrap kisses, place candy corn in a bowl, and cut twizzlers or other red candies into small pieces. Set aside.
Step 4: Melt Chocolate Almond Bark in Microwave.
Break apart almond bark squares and melt them in the microwave following package instructions. Stir frequently.
Optional: I added a tsp. of shortening to one-half package; this seems to make dipping a little easier.
Step 5: Dip Sandwiches.
Using a slotted spoon, dip the sandwiches into the chocolate.
Spoon chocolate over the top until it is completely covered.
Tap slotted spoon on the side of the dish to shed extra chocolate.
Slide a spoon or knife across the bottom of the spoon and gently push the cookie onto waxed paper.
Step 6: Decorate.
Dip the back/bottom of each candy piece into the melted chocolate (place chocolate in microwave for a few seconds if hardened).
Place the Hershey's kiss near the front of the cookie, and place 3-4 candy corn pieces on the back as feathers. Place a small piece of red candy just below the tip of the kiss.
