This a simple recipe, easy and quick to make, but makes a great addition to any fancy meal, or a good dipping cracker for an Hors D'oeuvres night. Or just a great snack whenever. Super yummy!
The flavors can easily be changed depending on what herbs and spices you throw in. I also like to add chopped up sundried tomatoes sometimes. Take these idea, and play with em, if you come up with a great flavor combination, comment below!
Also, take some pictures of your finished crackers, with your favorite dip (if ya got one) and I'll add em to the gallery here if you'd like.
Step 1: Ingredients
I don't usually measure any of the ingredients I use, but I measured the main ones this time round.
For the garlic in these, I use roasted garlic cloves in oil (homemade), and I also use the oil from the garlic for making the dough.
1.5 cups of flour
3/4 cups of water
2 Tablespoons of oil (I use garlic flavored oil from the roasted garlic)
2 well crushed roasted garlic cloves (if you don't have any, I'd substitute with garlic powder or such, wouldn't recommend using raw garlic)
I also like to use some Hawaiian black sea salt on the top of em, mostly for decoration. But if you do use that, go light on the salt in the dough.
Step 2: Mix Er Up!
Throw it all together and mix it up.
After mixing I turn the oven on to preheat (375 Fahrenheit), and let the dough set while the oven is heating. This gives the flavors time to mingle.
Also, go ahead and butter your pan for baking.
Step 3: Baking
Bake for anywhere from 40-60 min. Depends on your dough, an how crispy you want em. The ones you see here are slightly darker than I intended. I like to bake em till they'll crack, then let em cool and break em into cracker size pieces.
