Scary Skull Eggs and Bacon (Vegetarian Style) Breakfast

About: I like to DIY and I hate to waste anything.

Here is an easy recipe for eggs and "bacon" that kids really love. When completed the dish looks like a scary skull and cross bones. This version uses fakon or fake bacon (which tastes fabulous btw) instead of bacon.


2 eggs, separated
2 strips of facon
Frozen mixed vegetables (for nose and mouth)
oil or butter for pan

cups to hold separated egg yolks and whites
a cute kid to help*
   *optional of course

Cook fakon and set aside.
Separate egg yolks from whites, set aside.
Add 1 Tbls or so of oil/butter to pan. Bring to medium-low heat.
Pour egg whites into pan trying to mimic a skull shape.
After whites begin set (get firm), add egg yolks, one at a time to make the "eye sockets" of the skull. Cook until firm.
Remove cooked eggs from pan, place on plate.
Add veggies to make nose and mouth.
Slip "bacon" strips underneath eggs in a criss-cross fashion.
Admire your scary skull and cross-bones breakfast.
Eat it up, yum!

    And why isn't it a vegetarian? The bacon is NOT meat, it is FAKE bacon, made from vegetable protein and grain. Man, you really need to pay more attention to detail when reading.

    Thanks! It can look much cuter than the picture I put up. I was in a hurry and didn't really get a good shot.
