How to Make Homemade Mochi
30 or so years ago I owned a health food store and I use to get mochi in a frozen rectangle. It had a different texture than the mochi I've found now. It was slightly grainy and flat. I thawed it enough to cut into squares and make a slit sideways and put cheese or jam in the middle and bake. It would puff up and get crispy on the outside. I have not been able to find that kind of mochi anywhere and the only kind I've been able now are these soft balls (which I love also!). Has anyone see the frozen kind recently?
It's always a challenge to find a Halloween costume my husband will wear, thank you!!!

Avocado Tropical Pie
Oh, that sounds yummy!
Thanks! That's a great idea! Now I don't have to go buy popsicle molds or sticks.
Don't knock it until you try it ;-}. Avocado has a fairly neutral taste with a buttery texture. You would be surprised at how well it mixes with other ingredients to make an extra creamy sweet treat!
I make an avocado & honeydew melon soup that is highly addictive. Now I've got another recipe for avocado, thank you!! It's not as healthy as the soup but, oh my goodness am I drooling!!
Beef and Bourbon Pie
I tried this several years back and felt very frustrated that there are some weeds that will find their way into my garden now matter what I do. Living in the country surrounded by woods where the birds sit in the bushes that anchor my flower garden and I can verify that it does not matter what I try by the second year here come the weeds! Henbit, the bane of my garden, will grow anywhere & anytime even in the winter! Your idea would probably work best in a more controlled area.
Easy Giant LED Backlit Moon
What a great idea! Love how you've put it together. Would have never guessed it was made from cardboard!
Thanks! Love these ideas!!
This may be the solution for my arthritic back and speaks to my budget!I do have a question though. Have you ever tried to make it taller? I have plants that grow to about 6' and I want to make sure there is enough depth for the roots. I'm thinking about getting 2 of the mulch cloths and cutting them in half but not folding. Instead use the two layers as a 1' wall could I staple together the 2 halves for a 2' wall? Would the fabric be strong enough to hold the dirt? Thanks! Nancy
Sounds like my kind of lunch. But then there is breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner ;-}. A bed time snack sounds yummy too but then there's the caffeine, darn!
This look soooo good, thank you! Going to make it for Easter and use either Kahlua or Bailey's Irish Cream........yum! If I make it with Kahlua I think I'll add some instant coffee with the chocolate. Dang I want some right now!

Gingerbread House Tissue Box
Last year at Dollar Tree I found Halloween and Christmas boxes made just like yours. I simple cut a slot at the peak of the roof, put a box (check your size) of tissues in and voila, a very cute 5 minute or less tissue box. This year I haven't been able to find them or they are much too small but I did find pretty boxes with flat lids that I just drop the tissue box into. I'm going to try your lids and see if I can get them to fit. I'll probably try your idea to make room specific boxes.Thank you for a great idea!!
I've been making these for years with some exceptions. I add parsnips (before you say uck roasting them brings out the sweetness), sweet potatoes and, sometimes, white potatoes. Even the most die-hard deniers of parsnips asks what that delicious white fry is and I gladly tell them! If I haven't added white potatoes to the mix I'll sprinkle on a little cinnamon. Vietnamese cinnamon which has a natural sweetness not found in regular cinnamon and is slightly milder is what I use predominantly,

Edible Cookie Dough 5 Ways
Thank you! My husband is going to LOVE this. He's always pestering me for a bite of the cookie dough or to buy him one of those roll cookies that you just cut and bake. So far I've only given in once and then felt guilty. Now I can surprise him with his very own bowl of cookie dough!

"DO NOT USE PEANUT BUTTER. I've read that bird can choke from peanut butter because they don't have saliva. I don't know if this is true, but why risk it?" If you are going to make a comment like this you should at least do a little research to find out if it is true..........it's not! If you "don't know" find out. Peanut butter is listed by several birding websites, where I did my research, and as long as you use a clean peanut butter it's actually very nutritious for them. There is some really good information, if you care to search. I also can't imagine that you would think hydrogenated oils would be better. That being said, the toast was an ingenious idea, although I prefer a whole grain. One hint from experience, spread the toast with the peanut butter while ...

That being said, the toast was an ingenious idea, although I prefer a whole grain. One hint from experience, spread the toast with the peanut butter while it's still warm. It will "melt" the peanut butter enough for it to adhere to it better. I found out peanut butter sticks to itself and the spoon better than cold toast. Thank you for your good idea, just "please ma'am, just the facts."
