Leather Plague Doctor Mask
Thanks! I'll have to look there next time I'm in need of something for a project.

Thanks, Robert! I think you're right...a bigger box might have worked better. This was just an idea I dreamed up and wanted to try. It was a fun experiment!
Hi Ken...glad I'm not the only one with fussy finger joints. ha. You're probably right about doing the panel in that way. This walnut seems pretty stable and will be in a climate controlled room (my office) so I don't think there will be much problem. Appreciate you checking out the project!
Thanks so much for the kind words, James!
Oh, wow! Such great ideas and feedback. Thanks, Jonas! I'm sure I'll be revisiting this one at some point. I didn't even think about a backless chair. Maybe I need to make a stool. ;) Thanks for checking out the project! Hey...will you help me share this video around? That would help a lot more eyes get on it.
Awesome! Glad it could help. Once you get them done, tag me on Instagram @Brudaddy I'd love to see!

Hi John, Thanks so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it.
Thanks so much! I'm always surprised when I'm able to get such good miters just from using tape as a clamp.
Thanks for the kind words!
Interesting. I've not heard of this before, but makes sense. Thanks for letting me know!

Hey there...thanks so much! I appreciate your feedback. I wanted a little contrast in the red gum grain which is why I went with the walnut. Might try something else next time.

Thanks so much, Larry!
Hey John! Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I could have gone with more of a matching wood for the splines, but I wanted the contrast. I might try something closer in color next time to see how that looks. There are some other ways to have a spline that is pretty much hidden, but I've never done it. If you want, go check out my instagram @Brudaddy. I posted a finished pic with the gift contents inside. I ended up just planing some shavings of walnut and white oak, and then put a rock paper weight in laying on the shavings. However, the box was really the gift. The recipient loves boxes. Thanks again!

Glad it helped, Tom! Thanks for checking out the project!
Hi there! Thanks for following along with the project. I don't actually have a template for this. I'm sure you can find something pretty easily if you look around. In my video, I mention the site I used to split it into tiles so I could print it more easily.
Right on! Thanks for the nice words. Yeah, I adapted my jig from one that Make Something did (on YouTube). Super simple. Tag me on Instagram when you make one...I want to see!
Thanks so much! Appreciate you taking time to check it out and comment.
Thank you, Alex! Appreciate you checking out the project. If you haven't already, give the video a watch. I have some cool slo mo shots in there. ;)
Thanks so much! I love the contrast in the walnut and maple. Even the more subtle contrast of the white oak and maple is nice.

Sorry for the delay, Lars. For some reason, I didn't see this question. I picked this plywood up at Home Depot. I had to look through a few of them first, but found one that was pretty straight and flat. This is just the radiata pine that they sell. Glad to know I'm . not the only one that uses Sharpie like that. ha

I'll see if I can get a good shot of the back. If you see in the video where I add the inset handle or at the very end of the video, I show me closing the door from the back side...that might give you a better look. Thanks for checking out the project!
Hi Jeff! Thanks for the comment and for checking out the project! I'm not sure why this would cause warping? It should be fine. The substrate the strips are nailed to is 3/4" plywood, which is quite stable. Plus, the strips were 3/4" thick.
Thank you very much! This instructable took me a pretty long time to write. ha
Hey Steve! Thanks so much!
Appreciate that, KJ! It really makes your home something to live in when you have functional art pieces. I find it very enjoyable.
