Exactly, I couldn't have said it better myself. NJ steel baron has metal really cheap and it is for the knife maker. They are great and provide an awesome product.
I am so glad someone else said it first this time. I tell people all the time and get nothing but flames for just trying to help. Hard or not they are pretty knives.
Great tutorial. thank you!!!!
I am not here to argue the point with you or rain on your nice article. I am just stating the facts. they use cheaper metal in carbide blades for this reason. this comes directly from Freud tools. it is simple, try to temper a blade then have it rockwell tested. that will give you your answer.
I have heard of people using pine straw to introduce carbon into the blade. I cannot confirm if it works or not. if you go to midway usa's youtube channel he does a full thing on color case hardening. I would think you could find a comfortable mid ground with it.
How to hide your files inside a picture
Great tutorial. A++++
This is a AWESOME IDEA!! A+++. but just an fyi saw blades that are carbide tipped are not hardened and will not harden. you need a carbide free blade if you want to have something that will hold an edge.
Thanks a ton, thats exactly what I needed. i just couldn't think of how to word it to google it. booklet printing was it. thanks again for the help.
Great tutorial. thank you for it. I have a question you may or may not be able to answer.I want lines and numbered pages (the numbering is optional) but the lines need to have margins so the lines do not go all the way thru the spine. I hope that made sense.
that is a great job. I wouldn't have known it was cardboard if you hadn't said something. just an fyi they make a chrome type paint called rubn buff it really gives a great metallic look. they also have a chrome type paint that is applied with water and a sprayer(it wouldn't work here) but looks just like chrome. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Rub+%27n+Buff thanks for the great tutorial
awesome tutorial. I have used this many times to remove dents from gun stocks. many times if the wood fibers area not torn then you do not have to sand. thanks for the guide.
Sorry. that is incorrect. on both accounts. RC is used for the hobby community. and ROV still means what I said previously. if it is for water it would state Under water Remote Operated Vehicle. notice the part where it says Underwater? google is your friend and can help with this.
anyone can pick a company or 2 and if they label it one thing does not make it so. look up the term ROV. its simple. the term ROV means Remotely Operated Vehicle. you don't have top change the argument to what ever oe pick at a person because you are wrong. the term ROV is a broad term and there are classes of rov that fall under it uav,drone etc.
the term RC is not exclusive to land and air. it means Radio Control. http://www.rc-airplane-world.com/rc-flying-glossary.html#viewR and is typically used for the hobby community. and as your unit is a rov it is also a ROUV or the like. ROV is a blanket term and covers MANY more things than just water based machines. I am not trying to troll the thread. I am simply helping you look better. if I was using a term incorrectly I would hope someone would point it out and not be rude about it. I am not trying to be rude in any way.
Nope, not even close to Jealous. and just because I have not built one doesnt mean I cannot. I have chosen not to. and I didn't pick holes in his work. I think his work is great. his terminology is incorrect. iamborg your trolling tells the rest of the world how sad you clearly are... go troll elsewhere.
Awesome build. I have been gathering parts to build one from the same frame you have used. 2 things to consider. replace the wheel bearings. I have heard bad things about the HF bearings. second get a set of scissor jacks for it. you might only need one set but 2 sets would give you 4 corner leveling. they can be had from camping world if you want to over pay or get this set from amazon and weld them on. http://www.amazon.com/Yaheetech-5000LB-Stabilizing...regardless I love your build. I hope to see more work from you in the future.
ROV stands for Remotely Operated Vehicle. NOT Remote Operated Underwater Vehicle. there are many types of ROV and not all are used in water.
