That's where that study was from - army exercises. It's useful to up your water intake, but you must do as other posters have said, and take your foods into account.Upping water intake for too long can adversely affect your mineral absorption rates.Be aware that eight glasses a day was for a relatively tall and muscular man under combat conditions. My 5"2 small frame would be spending my life in the toilet at that rate! Judge your own requirements, and remember that an arid climate or a damp climate will also affect your requirements.
