    How to Cut Pin Headers

Your starting picture and result picture show male headers, yet your technique shows female headers. They are very different beasts. The male ones take very little effort and can be done almost by hand and don't require a sacrificial pin. The female ones are much tougher and do require a sacrificial pin. You've mixed the two up when they are different.

I was under the impression that the NRF24L01 is 3.3v logic level and not just it's power supply. Meaning that even if you provide it with 3.3v for it's power instead of 5v, you are driving the SPI logic pins at 5v, which is too much? Also, seriously, soldering onto an Arduino's pins instead of using a cheap as chips conector?

Completely wrong. Plugs are designed to have an Earth pin that works. If it's wired correctly then there's zero risk of contact with live. If that was true then the chassis of electronics would not be Earthed for fear of them touching live.Your suggesting of bodging a plug together is considerably more danagerous.

What you are suggesting has no overcharge protection and thus can be very dangerous resulting in the cells exploding and even killing the people involved. This happens with mobile phone cell packs and this one above is a lot more powerful.

Interesting. Any chance you could link the £150 / 1000w one you meantion? Thanks.

I was wondering the exact same thing too. Usually DIY (and especially non machined) things like this are extremely inefficient compared to a pre-made ones. I'd be very surprised if he got anywhere near 1000w. Does he list any electrical figures anywhere?AFAIK you are better off getting a slower but more bulky generator rather than a small one that spins too easily and fast. So a bike one would not be the best.
