Great to know that you have build plane based on my Instructable..Answer: both motor should rotate in opposite direction to cancel reverse torque..at a same time both should produce thrust in same direction..You have to reverse motor connection..., motor rotation direction is not programmable as I haven't used H-Bridge in this design..Hope this helped..
Yes it's possible... go ahead with Arduino Uno or any Arduino having usb to UART converter on board for program esp12 with following same procedure mentioned in this blog with following details, make sure rst pin of Arduino held low... Connect tx marked pin of Arduino to tx of esp12 directly and connect rx marked pin of Arduino to rx esp12 via 100ohms series resistor to avoid any damage due to logic level mismatch .. Arduino micro will not work as it's not having usb to UART converter on board.. as atmega32u4 having onchip usb device function..Hope it helps..
If after upload finished and than LED of Nodemcu start blink at 1 Hz rate instead of ESP12 LED means Program Uploded on Nodemcu, not on Stand Alone ESP12..You need to make sure RST of Nodemcu connected to Ground while uploading program...follow this video for better understanding..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8aYQBdBZoc
