Great 'ible!I just got my first ESP32, and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. I have a lot of learning to do before I take on a project like this, but I'm looking forward to trying it one day.I do have a couple of questions. For your project you chose to hard wire a speaker. Since the ESP32 is Bluetooth capable, what would need to be done differently to connect to a Bluetooth speaker? Would that clean up some of the audio issues? Also, I bought an Open-Smart 3.5" TFT LCD Shield. Would this work for the display on a project like this? Thanks so much for your input. I'm already looking through your other 'ibles to find something simple to start with!

This is a great idea!I'm thinking about making something like this for my daughters. Can you tell me approximately how much it weighs? They've been into going outside, taking notes, and then coming inside to draw pictures of nature lately, and I want them to have the option to take their projects outside. Thanks for sharing this!

When our girls were that age, we had to tell them if it was dark out then it was too early to get up! Unfortunately, this really only worked on weekends in the fall and winter though. Love the stop light colors idea. Probably makes a great nightlight too!

In Step 3, you mention that "if kept on the shelf you might want to use it that day as it will start to smell if it sits around too long."After the glue dries, does it still continue to "spoil?" I'm thinking if it is used in woodworking projects, will the project eventually smell bad? Thanks!

Great Instructable! My wife's touch table lamp is going out, so I might have to see if I can make this for her.Question: Would it be possible to adjust the brightness? The one she currently uses has three brightness settings. Could you do something like that with this?

Thanks!Actually, yes, I had two main problems inserting the lights.1. The batteries kept sliding around in the holder and falling out. This I fixed with a bit of tape.2. Even though I tried to carefully bend the metal battery casing, I managed to crack the bamboo lid. its not too noticeable, but the light unit does tend to slip out at times.I still haven't come up with a good diffuser for the light yet, but I'm working on it.
