It looks like just a collimator. It would replace the square collimator at the led.

I found higher wattage leds on ebay up to 500w.300w round http://3.ly/cbD500w square http://3.ly/cbGIt's a larger emitter but I'm wondering if the high power will make up for that. When you first burned an lcd from getting too hot was it the actual lcd that burned or was it just the polarizer? Cheap polarizers get those spots from burning. Couldn't you just buy a separate high temp polarizer made for projectors that also has more light transmittance? Like this one?www.polatechno.co.jp/english/products/proflux.htmlOr high temp ones on this page that also say 10,000:1 contrast ratio.https://midopt.com/accessories/polarizing-film/I've also seen someone remove the polarizing film from the lcd, cut it, and put it on the projector lens so there's less polarizer area for the light to go through...

I looked it up and it just seems like another type of collimator, nothing special. What would that lens do that a normal collimator and fresnel doesn't?Thanks.
