1) yes. In fact it'd a lot better2) Not sure what you mean by that and I don't know much about MKR1000 but 5V pin should be able to handle 5V :D
Don't worry if you're using transistor it won't feed 5V on the data pin. If you're using 3V relay it's completely irrelevant.

you don't really need to combine them. Looking at the instructable it's fine except it's missing a resistor going from the base of the transistor to raspberry pi in your case. You'll have to try different values. The transistor shouldn't get hot and the relay should be switching. I'd start with 1K.

Sorry, I only noticed the comment now. I don't know whether it's still relevant but you can just desolder the original microphone and solder the wire directly to the terminals where the microphone was connected.

Thanks Man :) .What you're trying to do is quite interesting but I'm not sure if it is the best approach. I'd suggest making each coil the strongest it can be. You can then adjust how much power each one uses. When it comes to making a coil, only two things affect the magnetic strength. The number of turns and the current flowing through. A thinner wire will allow you to make more turns but will also have higher resistance therefore lower current and vice versa. So it's really just a matter of experimentation. Good luck.
yea, that work however the plugin for octoprint only supports one output so I don't know how you'd control them separately.
If you put the relay on the AC side like shown in the instructions, any relay rated for at least 230V and at least 1A is fine.
It's just a smoothing capacitor. it can be either 10 or 100uF. it'd probably work even Without it. Yes, It's all PLA. If the gun works properly the coils don't get hot to a point of melting The plastic. But if a coil stays on for too long due to some error then yes. it's going to melt. Even if it's just 2 seconds. When My coils melted the housing, I'd stick rod into the barrel to keep it straight as it cools down.

It would be possible but you need a separate relay for each voltage and the relay has to be rated for high current because some printer can go easily over 20A on the 12V rail.
I used almost 4 of those 20g bottles. but I also managed to drop one and spill everything :D so it was more like 3 bottles. And my floor glows now as well :D
Sure. Even something like 555 timer could work but honestly, it's an unnecessary complication. On a bike you will be stopping on red lights an what not so with a timer it might just make bright spot when stopped and then be off for another minute when moving.

Sure. It's 20A at 12V but this is swithing the mains voltage. If your mains is 220V then the relay has to switch about 1A.

It does. With more cells, you'll have higher voltage and the energy will be higher too. With the 1300mAh battery you can only draw 58,5A which is not enough. According to my calculations, the coils can draw over 60A. The other 3000mAh battery can supply 120A which is a lot safer and the battery will also last longer.

I'd suggest checking the update schematic on https://www.instructables.com/id/Coilgun-1/The MOSFET can handle 110A continuously and 390A as pulse current so that isn't going to be a problem. The only real limitation is the battery. The ones I'm using can handle about 90A.
