Yeah, I mentioned that as an option. But I love 3D printing, so I use it when I can. :)
Awesome! Love those figures.

Well there is just no mystery left in the world... Titillium Web (https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Titillium+Web)
The main font is Mechsuit (https://www.dafont.com/mechsuit.font) and it's free. The front buttons act (from left to right) as Menu (or Back on older xbox controllers), Steam/Xbox Button, Start. The placement was partially aesthetic to keep the top control board clean and they are placed closer to the center in hopes that would lessen the chance of a player bumping them in a normal playing position.
Tools & Supplies
Very cool! I'm actually finishing up building a second one. Added a rounded edge to the front of the controller board and I definitely prefer it that way. Other than that, pretty much the same. I would consider modifying measurements slightly to give yourself an extra millimeter of clearance between the bottom of the drawer and the cabinet as it requires near perfection to keep them from grazing as you use the drawer. Send me a message if you have questions.
It's awesome to see someone building one! But I don't think legs would be the right approach. If you're set on a stand alone design I think you'd want to stick with a box design for the base otherwise it's likely to wobble or become unstable with people leaning on it. You could try to design it so it doesn't appear so boxy, but it would need to retain four sides all the way to the ground to have the rigitity you'd want. Feel free to send personal messages with pictures to discuss your build if needed. I'd be glad to help talk out solutions.
Not sure I can give a straight forward answer on this one as tool prices very drastically by brand. Also it depends on if you were to willing to buy a kit to build the CNC I used vs. just buying a CNC machine vs. doing everything by hand without a CNC. The most important tools I used were a Table saw (available as low as $99), Router ($70+) and the MPCNC machine (around $460 total if you don't have a 3D printer) and a power drill/screw driver ($30+). And the 4 different bits used Probably totaled $50. I'd GUESS depending on your approach to start from nothing could cost between $800 - $1400+ depending on your approach and tool choices.
These made awesome gifts. Thanks for sharing!
Oh man, this never came up in searches when researching doing emulation with steam. I love the interface for RetroPie, just didn't think to see if it was available for windows. Thanks!
Can't wait to see it!
I'd probably guess around $400 if you already have the tools. The big ticket items were the Monitor ($175), the arcade buttons ($80 with additional buttons) and the vinyl ($30 after shipping). But obviously I wasn't focused on cost savings since I bought 4 times the amount of T-molding needed just to have 2 colors and spent $16 on 8 screws so they would be colored. I'd think a person really looking to do it cheaply shop around and easily get that down to $300 with little to no sacrifice.
Thanks for catching that. Should work now, but in case it breaks again it is the ASUS VE278H.
1. The videos included show all the animated portion of the LED configuration. Anything else would just be me playing video games. :)2. No Ledblinky, although that does seem pretty cool. It is just an LED button set that comes on and stays on. 3. I would probably be way off if I tried to guess, but I am not a big guy and I carried it up a flight of stairs and mounted it myself without much difficulty. So it's not terribly heavy.
Great info! Thanks! Cool to see someone else who's played modern steam/pc games on an arcade setup.

Thanks, it was a very rewarding project.
Wow, this deserves a slow clap. The idea of the build was great, but the execution of that idea was incredible. You sir, are getting followed.
