That's a great jig for cutting dowels, it's much better than the ones you seen for table saws.I will go and make one now. :-)Thanks for the very clear instructions.

Nice project!Did you change the orientation of the layers when you laminated it together and how many layers did you end up with? What's the final thickness of say the seat? I really like the idea but have never tried it myself...

That is so cool! Well done!I do have one concern though and that is the strength of the slat support beams, especially the ends of them. As you suggested I think a better solution would be to have the arms come out to the corners so you don't have any part of the slat support beams unsupported. The rest of the design looks rock solid! :-)
Very cool! I initially thought that you were going to turn it and was wondering why you made one flat blank and then you started on the angle cut markings and it dawned on me!For a circle clamp like this you could use some threaded rods with nuts and big washers through the upper and lower clamping pieces and then simply tighten the nuts to clamp the two circular clamping pieces together, that should develop enough pressure to ensure a good glue joint I would think. The bigger the thread / rod the better.Very neat I must say, I need to get myself a band-saw!
