Did you consider building up the planters, maybe with a different material like stone or tile, then just putting the dirt in there? Or would that have meant plants would restrict your view? I would be interested in seeing an updated picture or hearing when this was done.(pat yourself on the back for a job well done, if you can raise your arm, lol)

I love the attention to detail and wonder about your process for doing an instructible. Do you remember the steps, do it while dictating, stop and write things down or what? Do you plan out each step first and write a list, or just know from the past?I hope people realize that the only way to learn how to do something is by doing it, which is why experience is worth more, in compensating someone for work, and by making mistakes AND having success, we learn.

Beautiful. Did you ever try combining rustic wood with metal? Either black steel or stainless- I think the contrast is nice sometimes.

Excellent. I think that tips like this give kinesthetic learners options for learning about different parts of the process, showing exactly what to do gives confidence to try new things!

try using the pipe insulation- black spongy stuff, or pvc sprayed black.

I liked this design much more after seeing how you did it yourself- truly unique. I have a dozen of these castors that I find are difficult to attach to things, also a bar bender that I wish someone could use! (wait until the kids start using the table for a go cart!)

You could ask all the 'trolls' for links to THEIR projects so you can learn... Guess they can't read the be nice policy. (It is interesting to see the power of seeing something spinning that actually has the effect of making one dizzy or nauseated. But then it goes away when eyes closed. Mind over matter?)

In other words try using black plastic to retain heat from the sun. (Lay over a patch of grass to see how it works)If you don't understand conduction, have an animal lay on a wood floor for a while then move him and feel the floor!

Good instruction and advice. I wonder if you ever you reclaimed wood. In my neighborhood they bulldoze house then haul off heart pine joists, flooring, even existing furniture. So wasteful.

Agree with all comments. The real value is in the ability to adapt something in an emergency, and keep your mind active. How many of us who learned the same basic concepts early in life can still recollect them when needed.without practice? We forget that sometimes tinkering is to exercise the mind and learn what works and what won't. Too often people refuse to engage without a competitive goal in mind.
